B License Canopy Course

B License Canopy Course! Pre-requisites for the course: you must have completed your Cat F hop n pops and be cleared for self supervision. Course topics: Basic canopy flight cycle theory Landing pattern review Wing loading review Spotting review Hop n pop etiquette Landing priorities Accuracy Two Staged flare technique Video debriefs of landings Five jumps (all hop n pops) from the USPA Canopy Progression Card Price of the course is $125 plus the cost of your five jumps and packing. The course fee is payable to OJ upon arrival. Cash is preferred, but credit cards are accepted. There will be a 3% charge for credit card transactions. We also accept contactless payment methods such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay as well as chip cards. Payment for your jumps will be handled with experienced manifest as usual. If you do not currently have a Burble account, you will need one before the course. You can download the BurbleMe app from whatever App Store your device uses. You will be required to use a packer in order to expedite the course, so please budget $40 for 5 pack jobs as well. I am currently working to identify a dedicated packer for the course. Please mark "going" on this event if attending, and contact OJ at relativewindllc@gmail.com to register for the course . A non-refundable registration fee of $25 is required to guarantee your spot in the course. Priority will be given in order of payment. Your registration fee will be applied to the cost of your course. If you can't make it, you can put your registration fee toward a future course within six months from the start date of your original course. If you have questions, you can email us, PM us, or call Relative Wind LLC at 757-672-0529. Please leave a voicemail if there is no answer, and we will get back to you ASAP! The plan: We will meet at the main hanger at 0800 to take care of course adminstrative duties such as check in with manifest, payment of the course fee, coordinating with the packer, filling out of USPA canopy progression cards, and breakfast. Next, we will begin discussing course topics in a classroom setting. After classroom, we will brief the first jump, get manifested and skydive! Landings will be recorded and debriefed after each jump, the next topic discussed, the next jump briefed, and we will jump again. We will repeat this cycle until all five jumps are done! After we are done jumping, we will sign off your Canopy Progression Cards, and you will be on your way to a B license!

Ride Like a Girl- Ladies Night

Ladies over the age are 21 are invited to join the ladies of Village Motorsports for a night full of motorcycle fun and education. We will begin with dinner and wine at 6PM followed by a 2 wheel MSF basic rider course demontration. Afterward, we will break into groups that will visit several stations including: 1)Learn about motorcycle safety, new laws and your rights 2) Learn how to pick the right bike for you and your riding style 3) Learn basic maintenance and how to do a pre-ride inspection 4) Learn about new lending practices, insurance and extended warranty options and what they mean to you 5) Learn about the latest in womens riding gear, the difference between fashion and safety, and communications systems. We will conclude with question and answer session and a game of dirty biker.

We will have Greg Windmiller as a guest presenter, Virtual Reality canopy flight from SkydiVR, Emergency Procedure review in the hanging harnesses, presentation of the Chez Judy Award, and much more to come. The infamous Kevin Reynolds will be our key-note speaker at the end of the day with pizza and beer. After Kevin speaks, we will have our yearly State of the Club address to discuss exciting new developments for Skydive Orange and to take questions and comments from the membership. James Madison's Birthday: Wreath Laying Ceremony

Commemorate the 267th birthday of James Madison, featuring the United States Marine Corps' Honor Guard, Color Guard, and Firing detail, during this annual wreath-laying ceremony. The official ceremony commences at 1:30 PM at the Madison Family Cemetery. Mark Herring, Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia, will be the featured speaker. In the House, Mr. Madison will accept birthday wishes. A special in-depth tour highlighting Madison's role as Father of the Constitution will be offered at 11:00AM and 3:00PM. Signature tours will be offered every 30 minutes between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
